The Phaeton D2 is a concept car, a luxury sedan designed by Volkswagen that was never put into production. Only one Phaeton D2 was made as a drivable prototype. The project was eventually scrapped in 2016

Top of the line is powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine, which had a top speed of 333 km/h and 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.8 seconds. Also a Diesel 3.0-liter V6 TDI and 3.0-liter V6 TSI with plug-in hybrid petrol were planned.

Volkswagen had announced plans for a next-generation electric Phaeton, but this was delayed and eventually canceled in favor of other electric vehicle initiatives.
