First presented to the public at the 1970 Tokyo motor show, this predecessor to the iconic rx-7 was a two rotor, MR layout, super light 850kg vision of a rotary sports coupe, producing 247 form the 10a twin rotor that was mounted directly in front of the rear axle.
The engine was accessed by gull wing doors, separate to the other pair of gull wing doors for driver and passenger to access.
Braking was shown by red lights, cruising by amber lights and speeding up by green lights as an idea of safety innovation, which obviously never took off.
